Life is not a sprint, it’s more like a marathon…

So, may I ask, how’s your race going?

In the classic movie, Chariots of Fire, there is a scene where Eric Liddell, is confronted by his sister. She objects to his training for the olympics instead of pursuing his calling to return to China as a missionary… www//

Eric’s response to his sister is well known to anyone who has watched the movie… “I believe God made me for a purpose, but he also made me fast! And when I run I feel his __________ (pleasure).

Eric Liddell expressed what we all need to know. That when we discover our life purpose we will bring God great pleasure and find our greatest joy.

Let me ask, have you already discovered for what purpose God put you in the race of life?

Do you enjoy what you do from day-to-day? Does it bring you joy?

If you aren’t sure, then let me suggest you take the time to ponder and answer the following four questions.

  1. What do I most enjoy doing?
  2. What moves me most deeply?
  3. Where do I find my greatest joy?
  4. What is it about that activity that brings me a sense of life?

When you can answer those four questions, you will want to pursue them with all your might. And like Eric, you too will feel God’s pleasure and find the motivation to persevere in the marathon race.

I’d loved to connect with you. If you haven’t already done so fill out the sign up form at:
